The 10/40 Window Region

According to JoshuaProject, “The 10/40 Window is the rectangular area of North Africa, the Middle East and Asia approximately between 10 degrees north and 40 degrees north latitude. The 10/40 Window is often called “The Resistant Belt” and includes the majority of the world’s Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists…Approximately 5.16 billion individuals residing in 8,947 distinct people groups are in the revised 10/40 Window.  6,207 (69.4%) of these people groups are considered unreached and have a population of 3.12 billion. This means approximately 61% of the individuals in the 10/40 Window live in an unreached people group. The 10/40 Window is home to some of the largest unreached people groups in the world…” This region is home to the world’s least evangelized nations and is dominated by the three of the world’s four religious blocs – Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism. Here, we also have majority of the world’s poor.

Jesus said, “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest” (John 4:35). We have a divine mandate to lift up our eyes and look on the fields. The 10/40 window is a field “white already to harvest”. We can play vital roles in this harvest and one of them is PRAYER.

Our interest here is raising a body of believers who will spend at least 15 minutes everyday in prayer for this region. Make a commitment before the Lord today to pray daily that God will send laborers into His harvest, for the outpouring of the Holy Ghost upon this region and for God to open a door in these nations for the Gospel to be preached. We have prepared a guide to help you in praying. Download the prayer guide. You can also download the map.
